Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern the use of AfterAsk (the “App”), a Shopify application operated by MicroForge (“AfterAsk”, “we”, “us”). By installing the App on your Shopify store, you agree to these Terms.

Who these Terms are for

These Terms apply to the Shopify merchant who installs the App (“you”, “merchant”). The App is intended for merchants operating a Shopify store, including stores on plans below Shopify Plus.

What the App does

AfterAsk lets you show post-purchase surveys and conditional content blocks on your store's Thank you and Order status pages, and reports the collected responses back to you inside the App.

Billing

AfterAsk is billed through Shopify App Pricing, using the same payment method you have on file with Shopify. Plans:

  • Free — $0/month: 1 active survey, 1 question per survey, 1 message block, results visible for the most recent 30 days, and no CSV export, order-level result list, product metafields, or Shopify Flow trigger.
  • Pro — $12/month or $120/year, billed by Shopify.

Current plan limits are also shown on the App's Plan screen, which is authoritative if the two ever differ.

New Pro subscriptions include a 14-day free trial. If you don't cancel before the trial ends, Shopify begins charging your subscription automatically.

Cancellation

You can cancel or downgrade your subscription at any time from the App's plan screen. That cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period, and we do not provide prorated refunds for partial periods.

You can also stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it from your Shopify admin. Uninstalling stops Shopify from continuing to charge you going forward and immediately removes your access to the App's features, since you no longer have it installed; we do not control the exact timing of when Shopify stops billing after an uninstall, and we do not provide refunds for any part of a billing period already charged.

After a Pro subscription ends, your account moves to the Free plan and its limits, subject to the data retention terms in our Privacy Policy.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • use the App for any unlawful purpose or to collect data you're not permitted to collect;
  • attempt to reverse engineer, disrupt, or gain unauthorized access to the App or its infrastructure;
  • use the App in a way that violates Shopify's Acceptable Use Policy or Terms of Service;
  • resell or sublicense access to the App without our written permission.

Disclaimer of warranties

The App is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, AfterAsk will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App. Our total liability for any claim related to the App is limited to the amounts charged for the App in the 12 months before the claim arose.

Changes to the App and these Terms

We may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of the App at any time. We may update these Terms from time to time; continued use of the App after an update means you accept the revised Terms. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms.

Data Processing Terms

To the extent AfterAsk processes personal data of your shoppers as your processor (see our Privacy Policy), the following applies:

  • Subject matter, duration, and purpose. We process the shopper survey response and order data described in our Privacy Policy, for the duration of your subscription (or as described by the retention periods in our Privacy Policy), solely to provide the App's post-purchase survey and conditional content features to you.
  • Processing on your instructions. We process shopper data only as necessary to provide the App as you have configured it, or as required by law.
  • Confidentiality. We ensure that anyone authorized to process shopper data is bound by confidentiality obligations.
  • Sub-processors. We use the sub-processors listed in our Privacy Policy. If we add or change a sub-processor, we will update that list.
  • Assistance. We will provide reasonable assistance to help you respond to shopper data requests and meet your data protection obligations, including through the Settings > Customer data tools in the App.
  • Deletion on termination. When your subscription ends or you uninstall the App, we delete your store's data as described in our Privacy Policy.
  • Audits. On reasonable written request, we will provide information reasonably necessary to demonstrate compliance with this section.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Japan, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protection or data protection rights you may have under the law of your place of residence.
